The DJI Air 2S downward infrared sensor is part of the drone’s downward sensing & positioning system, located on the bottom of the aircraft.

🔍 What it is

  • The Air 2S uses a combination of sensors, not just infrared:
    • Binocular vision cameras (downward cameras)
    • Infrared (ToF – Time of Flight) sensor
    • Auxiliary bottom LED light

👉 The infrared (IR) sensor specifically measures distance to the ground using reflected light.
